HomeFlex · An Airbnb project
HomeFlex
When a few nights are no longer enough.
2020 — 2026
The HomeFlex story
HomeFlex was born in Palo Alto, California, in 2020 from a need becoming increasingly visible within the Airbnb ecosystem: not every guest was looking to stay for just a few days.
Relocating professionals, students, remote workers, families in transition, and people spending a season in another city needed homes for weeks or months.
Airbnb had transformed how people booked stays around the world. HomeFlex was created to bring that same simplicity to a different category: medium- and long-term temporary housing.
From guests to temporary residents
2020 · Longer stays
From 799 Seale Ave in Palo Alto, we began building the space between traditional renting and short stays: furnished homes, identified hosts, online payments, and remote booking.
2021–2022 · A place to live
We learned that someone booking for several months is not simply looking for accommodation. They need a home and a host ready to welcome them, often from another city or country.
2023 · Digital housing
Searching, choosing, booking, paying, and arriving became one coordinated experience, with fewer mandatory tours, long negotiations, and property-by-property procedures.
2024–2025 · International network
HomeFlex expanded across Latin America, North America, and Europe, adapting currencies, neighborhoods, payment methods, and each market's understanding of temporary housing.
Global technology. Local experience.
The need is universal, but the way people talk about a home changes in every city. HomeFlex adapts the experience to each market without losing a common operational standard.
What began as a solution for longer stays evolved into a platform specializing in flexible housing.

Today and what's next
Being an Airbnb project today means taking a culture of trust proven across millions of stays and applying it to monthly housing: pre-publication checks, protected payments, and a team that answers on every booking.
After more than 10,000 operations across Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Uruguay, Mexico, Spain, and beyond, our focus is the same as in 2020: living in another city for a season should be as simple as booking online and as comfortable as coming home.
